About the role
Join the Infrastructure and Operations Team, in the Virtualization, Storage & Backup Administrator position. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, supporting, and enhancing enterprise IT infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid environments. You’ll ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and resilient while contributing to infrastructure lifecycle initiatives, automation, and day‑to‑day operational excellence in collaboration with the IT Infrastructure Lead.
What you will do:
- Provide day‑to‑day operational support for enterprise infrastructure services, including compute/virtualization, networking and voice/video, storage and backup, and database platforms.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and availability, troubleshooting issues, resolving incidents, and escalating complex or high‑risk problems as needed.
- Support infrastructure lifecycle and modernization initiatives, including upgrades, refreshes, migrations, and data center or hybrid cloud projects.
- Maintain infrastructure security, backup, and recoverability, supporting patching, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery testing, and audit activities.
- Develop and maintain automation, tooling, and documentation, including runbooks and post‑implementation validation to ensure service readiness and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, share technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise IT storage and backup administrator role. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience can be considered.
- Hands‑on experience across core infrastructure domains (networking, virtualization, storage/backup, databases).
- Experience supporting on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments.
- An understanding of ITSM processes (incident, problem, change).
- Strong troubleshooting, automation (e.g., PowerShell), and communication skills; certifications are an asset.
Technologies:
- Networking – LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, SD‑WAN, voice/video.
- Virtualization & Compute – VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix.
- Cloud & Hybrid – Microsoft Azure, on‑prem/cloud integration.
- Storage & Recovery – Enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, Commvault systems and Azure Backup.
It would be great if you also had:
- An exposure to enterprise infrastructure domains such as networking, virtualization, storage/backup, or databases, with awareness of architecture and standards.
- Familiarity with security‑sensitive or regulated environments, including audit, compliance, remediation activities, and basic hybrid cloud concepts.
- Industry certifications and ITIL Foundation (or equivalent service management training) are considered assets.
