About the role
Join the Corporate Support team, in the Specialist, Quality Assurance position. In this role, you will ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, frameworks, and authorities, providing management with confidence in the effectiveness and integrity of business operations. You will lead and oversee assigned monitoring, quality assurance, compliance, oversight, and/or audit engagements end to end, including planning, execution, reporting, and closure, while meeting established timelines. Applying risk and control principles, you will identify potential issues and emerging risks and communicate findings to senior management to support timely and effective resolution. You will also provide direction and guidance to team members and/or consultants as needed, establish performance expectations, and review work to ensure quality standards are met while delivering constructive performance feedback.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 13 months.
What you’ll do:
- Lead divisional risk assessments by identifying key areas of exposure and engaging Legal Services and the Chief Risk Office as needed.
- Analyze datasets and scenarios to deliver quantitative and qualitative insights that support informed management decision‑making.
- Identify vulnerabilities and drive corrective action plans, ensuring timely and effective resolution of risks.
- Develop, recommend, and support implementation of KPIs, KRIs, and outcome measures to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Guide staff on quality control and risk management improvements to strengthen overall business operations.
- Provide risk subject matter expertise to senior executives on high‑impact initiatives, offering timely, accurate, and strategic insights.
- Coordinate annual compliance attestations for People & Culture and the Corporate Support Division, including stakeholder engagement, controls testing, self‑assessments, and synthesizing results for the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Support ongoing and ad‑hoc risk management activities, including quarterly risk reporting, project-specific risk analysis, and advising team members on monitoring, testing, evaluating, and reporting on key controls and processes.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field such as accounting, business, finance, law or economics or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a risk management, compliance, or auditing function.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, and political sensitivity).
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislations, regulations and guidelines which apply to Government/Crown Corporations and experience in applying these concepts, practices and procedures in a risk management function.
- Superior oral and written communication skills including reporting and presentation skills.
- A demonstrated experience in project management and organizational skills initiating, developing and managing multiple projects.
- The ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.
- The ability to identify training needs, prepare and deliver training.
It would be great if you also had:
- A professional designation such as CIPP-C (Information Access and Privacy Certificate).
- Knowledge of construction and/or Facilities Management.
- General knowledge of Human Resources principles and procedures.
- Bilinguism (FR/EN).
