Leasing Manager (Granville Island)

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Planning and Development Team, you will lead the daily operations of leasing activities and coordinate the work of staff members on the leasing team, in order to maximize revenue generation for Granville Island.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the overall annual planning process and implement leasing strategies to optimize leasing efforts in accordance with operational polices and standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive leasing strategy, including short, medium, and long-term strategies, policies and procedures/processes to ensure alignment with Granville Island’s mission and vision.
• Prepare and manage leasing budget revenue forecasts and expenditures, as well as approve purchase orders and invoices for payment.
• Monitor the performance of tenants and address compliance issues related to lease terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with tenant community and industry contacts, including prospecting for new tenants and assessing new tenant suitability.
• Resolve complaints and concerns from leaseholders, the general public and staff.
• Liaise with Legal Counsel to initiate action on new and existing lease issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Business or Real Estate or a certification or designation through a recognized body in the Commercial Real Estate industry or related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
• Minimum 7 years’ commercial leasing experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in directly managing employees.
• Experience managing commercial mixed-use leases including food use / retail, office and industrial properties.
• Knowledge of health authority regulations, revenue forecasting & annual budgets, policy and procedures development.
• Advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills, including managing conflicts.
• Sound analytical skills with demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information to develop strategic business plans.
• Ability to make a persuasive, clear presentation of ideas that will convince others and gain acceptance of proposals or plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Rental Property Manager or Broker license through RECBC (Real Estate Council of British Columbia).
• ICSC CRRP Certification (International Council of Shopping Centres).
• Experience in Arts & Cultural tenant relations.
