About the role

We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. This is an exceptional opportunity where you will lead the development and implementation of the functional strategy at a national level for internal and/or external stakeholders. You will also lead intelligence-gathering efforts, provide strategic input into policy and technology direction and implement CMHC’s mission, vision and goals. In addition, you will play a critical role in ensuring positive relationships with housing experts and key associations and identifying opportunities to inform and communicate policy and key corporate messages, collaborate and share intelligence helping us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.



 What you will need

  • A commitment to demonstrating CMHC values. 
  • Bachelor of Finance, Public Administration, and/or Communication
  • Seven (7) years of related experience in project management in the financial or housing industry sectors.
  • Three (3) years in a senior position with demonstrated ability to influence and coach others.
  • Experience managing within a program and/or policy context.
  • Knowledge of housing issues and the social, economic and political trends that affect the affordability and quality of housing stock.
  • Excellent relationship management skills. 
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated ability in research, analysis and information synthesis to develop strategic business plans. 
  • Demonstrated development and coaching abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal skills; excellent negotiation and presentation skills are necessary. 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage staff through transition and continuous change. 


What you will be doing

  • Leading the development, implementation and maintenance of client relations and engagement strategies and plans for external stakeholders with the guidance of internal partners including Key Account Manager(s).
  • Create briefing notes for Senior Management including analytical and industry insight
  • Work on a multitude of concurrent projects while ensuring strategic national connections are made throughout the Financial Institution division with several related functions to make sure that CMHC’s client framework, policies and guidelines are sound.
  • Working with key functional areas to ensure efficient and effective process, information and knowledge sharing and coordination of efforts.
  • Building sound relationships/partnerships, collaborating and sharing intelligence as well as identify and implement opportunities to collaborate both internally and externally;
  • Researching and reporting marketplace and competitive information for strategic planning and review as well as acting as a catalyst for organizational change by building a shared vision with colleagues and influence the translation of vision into action.
  • Establish, develop and support a national measurement framework to achieve business impact (KPIs), including management of performance measures in collaboration with Key Account Manager(s). 
  • Ensure sound analytics drive client-centric business strategies. 
  • Analyze client needs, market trends and information to create opportunities in the development of new programs, products and client solutions that aligned with CMHC’s strategy.
  • Ensure the coordination of planning, measurement, and reporting including the ongoing monitoring of targets and the development and achievement of service/program standards. 
  • Coordinate liaison activities, joint meetings and tracking of deliverables.
