About the role: 

Join the Housing Programs team in the Senior Specialist, Client Relations position. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in client relationship management, multi-unit real estate financing and leadership. You will also provide expertise and guidance on the strategy management of client accounts and key account portfolios, including the delivery of services and initiatives to ensure the sector displays a uniform approach to clients and program delivery.  

 

This is a temporary position of a duration of 18 months. 

 

What you’ll do:  

  • Develop and implement a key account approach for large borrowers, non-profit affordable housing providers, developers and other multi-unit partners.  
  • Contribute proactively to the advancement of national business development plans through team participation in reviewing practices, financing products and by providing innovative solutions to meet market/client challenges and opportunities.  
  • Engage in business development and manage a portfolio of clients with a range of service strategies/plans to help achieve CMHC program outcomes.  
  • Identify new opportunities for streamlined processes or enhancements to meet client housing financing needs with long-term consideration in addressing both risk and clients/borrower needs.  
  • Work closely with national teams, local partners and stakeholders to jointly develop strategies, identify policy improvements and collaborate on housing solutions.  
  • Support colleagues with coaching and complex real estate finance developments.  

 

What you should have:  

  • An Undergraduate degree in planning, policy, economics, or real estate finance. 
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in information dissemination, rental mortgage insurance products, sales or business development. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • A broad understanding of the Canadian affordable, social and private housing sectors as well as the various programs intended to assist these sectors.  
  • A demonstrated experience and/or knowledge related to multi-unit residential real estate development and finance.  
  • A sound understanding of the financing of housing projects and the ability to review financial proposals to assess their viability.  
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of client relationship management, including key account and government relationship strategy.  
  • Analytical skills to develop unique solutions and a demonstrated leadership experience with coaching.
