About the role
Join the Housing Programs Sector Operations - Monitoring and Reporting team, in the Senior Specialist, Analytics position. As a trusted expert in transforming data into compelling narratives, you will play a critical role in shaping business decisions through analytics. Your role is telling the story behind the data to influence strategy and drive results, as well as strategy and risk management. You will ensure adherence to policies, Implement quality control processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the Corporation to promote a coordinated, to oversight and decision-making across the sector.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of performance measurement frameworks, including identification of applicable indicators and data sources / linkages to increase the breadth and usefulness of data.
- Lead the end-to-end Housing Program process, including ensuring data quality and integrity, data validation, reporting accuracy, providing valuable insights, and maintaining up-to-date procedures and data governance for reporting purposes and approval recommendation.
- Ensure the use and deployment of strategic analytical tools, models and techniques used for data analysis and interpretation are aligned with industry best practices. The tools help identify trends risks and opportunities that inform business decisions.
- Ensure data governance and integrity by implementing and maintaining standards, policies, and quality controls that safeguard data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across analytics processes and systems.
- Strategize with management, provide direction and input into the development of business strategy, and continuously act as oversight on progress of new corporate initiatives.
- Identify changes in strategic priorities and analytics requirements through ongoing communications with management.
- Oversee the analysis of risks, issues, and opportunities within CMHC's risk appetite initiatives and inform leadership team of concerns across Housing Programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate findings, share insights, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you should have:
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in housing programs, risk management, finance, or business operations and data analytics.
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior management. Strong oral and written communications skills including presentation skills.
- The ability to analyze transformation solutions and support their implementation.
- The ability to understand the story telling design and implement robust data transformation workflows using programming languages (experience using such as SQL, Python, or R in the work) to clean, structure, and enrich raw data for advanced analytics, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business requirements.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
It would be great if you also had:
- Knowledge of the Housing Program fundamental concept of finance or active progress toward completion.
- Experience in data analytics, and business analytics, with a proven ability to gather, interpret, and synthesize complex information to formulate recommendations, and provide strategic advice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CMHC programs, policies, and operational frameworks.
