Join the Investment and Pension Fund Team where we work to support CMHC’s goals for financial stability and housing affordability. We are looking for a portfolio manager with experience in managing either fixed income and/or equities. As an integral part of the public market investment team, you will manage, with the Director, Investments and Pension Fund, the fixed income portfolio of the Pension Fund and the Canadian equity portfolio. You will also lead the management of the Liability-driven investment (LDI) program. You will execute investment strategies that are aimed to outperform benchmarks and to provide investment management expertise in achieving investment objectives. This permanent position is an exceptional opportunity within a dynamic and collaborative environment for an investment professional with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage fixed income and equities portfolios in accordance with the investment objectives and parameters defined by CMHC.
- Monitor existing portfolio holdings and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
- Conduct research on potential investments and make recommendations.
- Develop and implement the strategic and tactical asset allocation.
- Develop and implement risk management policies on good governance and standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with other institutional investors and a wide range of other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, commerce, economics or related field.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing fixed income and/or equities portfolios.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship.
- Aptitude in leading and mentoring individuals to achieve a common objective.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized designation in investment or securities management such as Chartered Financial Analyst.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
