About the role:

Join the Customer Relationship Management team and the Customer Relations – Financial Institutions team as an account representative supporting the growth of our mortgage insurance portfolio for owner-occupiers. In this role, you will drive business growth by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients, as well as industry stakeholders. You will identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships with CMHC. You will manage the entire customer journey cycle, from prospecting and onboarding to ongoing relationship management, while actively promoting CMHC's mortgage insurance products. You will identify risks and opportunities, and provide advice and information to customers, including training on products, policies, and tools to help strengthen their business. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following regions: Quebec, Beauce, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord, Nord-du-Québec, Bas-St-Laurent, Gaspésie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine. 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Create and maintain strong, long-term relationships with our financial institution partners and recognize business opportunities.
  • Identify and seize new business opportunities through proactive outreach, market analysis, and strategic engagement.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for your client portfolio, including prospecting, onboarding, retention, and expanding product usage,
  • Analyze and synthesize a wide range of information, including volume reports and market analysis data, to develop and implement sales strategies to promote CMHC mortgage insurance to clients of financial institutions in a diverse portfolio,
  • Manage relationships with clients in your portfolio, including business volumes, client activity profiles, maintenance of services to lenders, lenders' use of CMHC's emili software interface, and increased visibility through planned client visits, training programs, and business development initiatives.
  • Present training sessions and presentations during client-organized events and training or information activities as part of strategic client support.
  • Manage your assigned portfolio, including the budget and other resources, in order to optimize customer service quality and efficiency.
  • Work effectively with other members of the Customer Relationship Management team.

 

What you should have: 

 

  • Postsecondary education in a relevant field, such as sales, marketing, or business.
  • At least five years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in front-line or business development roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending activities, including CMHC mortgage insurance products and services for owner-occupied homes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to influence and engage various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage the sales cycle and engage customers through consultative selling.
  • Excellent marketing and business development skills, as well as the ability to deliver effective training and presentations to groups.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships and recognize business opportunities.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle would be required to complete travel for on-site client visits.

 

It would be great if you also had: 

 

  • Good knowledge of mortgage underwriting;
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data.
