About the role
Join the Real Property Management Team, in the role of Specialist, Real Estate Operations. Your ability to manage multiple projects will help structure and optimize the operations of CMHC’s portfolio of properties.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 13 months.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure appropriate risk awareness and the implementation of risk culture within area of responsibility.
- Play an integral role in the development, revision, and oversight of policies and procedures pertaining to CMHC's processes, programs, products, and services, while providing technical oversight of more junior resources.
- Provide expertise and advice on relevant programs, policies, products or services ensuring that recommendations support the business and values of CMHC.
- Play a lead role in liaisons with internal stakeholders to coordinate the development and monitoring of business plans and reports, macro budgets, and the Corporate Plan.
- Lead the preparation of briefs, reports, business cases and presentations based on research topics and analyses, and present to senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Examine internal processes to identify opportunities for enhancing risk mitigation activities and lead the implementation of recommendations while monitoring their effects.
- Provide project management for select initiatives by leading the establishment of scope, timelines, and implementation according to project plans.
- Lead the management of complex, politically sensitive files and issues by using critical thinking, judgment, and experience to find solutions, while liaising with key partners to seek and adopt changes.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, communications, economics, mathematics or statistics, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in providing expertise on programs, policies, products, or services, including asset management, financial principles, complex budgets, and/or project management.
- An understanding of a range of work procedures and their impact on internal and external work areas for business continuity.
- Solid oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefing notes and present recommendations to upper management.
- The ability to write and/or edit documents to convey information that is subject to interpretation and requires reasoning and analysis before it can be composed or edited.
- Sound analytical skills with demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information to develop recommendations and provide advice.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to build relationships, negotiate effectively, and influence decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and perform effectively under pressure, with a strong comfort level in adapting to change and maintaining a strategic perspective.
