About the role

We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. In this role you will work collaboratively and cross-functionally to design new or re-engineer existing business processes.  By leading new process design, you will ensure processes are efficient, improve the quality and consistency of our client experience, and achieve their intended results. You will also examine the company's most critical business processes to reduce process complexity and variability, improve interdependencies with other processes, and generate increased capacity for the Corporation’s strategic objectives. Both aspects of this role will include working in a high volume and fast-paced environment where you must be able to manage multiple projects that vary in size and complexity. You will play a key role in ensuring projects (business process engagements) meet objectives on time and on budget. By increasing employee adoption and usage of business processes, you will drive a return on investment for every engagement to enable CMHC to meet its strategic objectives.


What you will need

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in process design.
  • Mandatory certification: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Additional certification: ADKAR (preferred).
  • Expertise in process design methodologies (e.g. DFSS, DMADV, DMADOV, IDDOV)
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of principles of organizational change management.
  • Knowledge of process design and improvement methodologies and frameworks (for example, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Demonstrated experience working on process design using a variety of techniques within and across all business units of a large organization.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with senior management to influence management decision making and persuade others to take course of action.
  • Experience in robotic process automation technology (an asset)
  • Expert ability to identify and analyze trends, patterns or connections between issues.
  • Expert analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflows.
  • Advanced demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment in which the ability to adapt to change is critical.
  • Advanced ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced interpersonal and active listening skills (tact, diplomacy, judgment).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, facilitate and deliver awareness programs/sessions, as required.


What you will be doing

  • Designs new products, services and processes focused on client needs that ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Applies a consistent, structured and phased framework (e.g. DFSS, DMADV, DMADOV and/or IDDOV) in the design of end-to-end processes.
  • Build commitment to business process management and improvement through effective process design, change management and implementation.
  • Leads process design and improvement projects with broad corporate implications that may have cross-sector impacts, including defining goals and objectives, planning and measurement.
  • Works with business lines to identify, analyze, structure, prioritize, and capture significant process design (new) and redesign (existing) opportunities.
  • Identifies and seeks out opportunities to transform business processes through automation, advanced analytics, robotics, artificial intelligence and many other digital capabilities.
  • Contributes to improving business performance as well as the client and employee experience.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and process excellence coach by promoting best practices in business process measurement, analysis, redesign, change and ongoing process management.
  • Develops and reports on performance measures to ensure that process improvements are sustainable and achieve their intended results.
  • Fosters and sustains quality relationships with senior leadership to enable the creation and/or strengthening of synergies between business lines.
