This position reports to the Systems team in our Office of the Chief Financial Officer sector. This sector is the financial foresight and legal insight to improve housing affordability.


About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. You will examine the company's accounting business processes in an effort to reduce process complexity and variability, improve interdependencies with other processes, and generate capacity for the Corporation’s strategic priorities. You will identify and drive synergies between business lines for performance improvements and partner with the business to ensure a complete understanding of processes. You will provide strategic advice and guidance in support of improving divisional business process efficiency and effectiveness and ensuring alignment of corporate objectives to business needs. This will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
 

What you will need
• Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a combination of education and experience. CPA designation is an asset.
• Certifications: ADKAR (preferred); Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt; Project Management Professional / PRINCE2 (asset).
• Minimum of five years of work experience.
• Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflows.
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment in which the ability to adapt to change is critical.
• Demonstrated experience working on process re-engineering using a variety of techniques within and across all business units of a large organization.
• Demonstrated experience supporting several concurrent projects and initiatives.

 

What you will be doing

 

Process Improvement Methodology and Strategy
• Work with business lines and functions to identify, analyze, structure, prioritize, sequence and capture significant business process redesign and improvement opportunities with the objective of improving accounting operations business unit productivity levels as well as the customer and employee experience.
• Develop and apply Lean Six Sigma processes and tools to create a strategy to support process re-engineering and adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
• Oversee the workflow/progress of all process-related teamwork, planning and communications activities.
• Provide input and document requirements and support the design, development and delivery of training programs related to process improvement.

 

Process Improvement Execution
• Lead process improvement projects with broad corporate implications that may have cross-sector impacts, including defining goals and objectives, planning and measurement.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure timely, accurate and comprehensive monitoring and reporting of process improvement activities.
• Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify/engage key stakeholders.
• Provide input and guidance on process improvement implications and ensure the identification and mitigation of potential risks associated with the delivery of process improvement / change endeavours.

 

Relationship Management
• Establish and maintain customer-centric working relationships with internal customers prior to, during, and after process improvement activities.
• Develop networks and build strong relationships, engage in cross-functional activities, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Build knowledge of sector-specific products, services, and processes.
• Provide advice and guidance with respect to change activities, engagement and impacts.
