This position reports to the Technology Strategy and Innovation team in our Office of the Chief Information Officer. This sector uses financial foresight and legal insight to improve housing affordability


About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. You will be developing, and continuously improving, IT dashboards/reports that outline the current state of IT operations execution against our strategy, and the value we bring to business lines and ultimately, Canadians. You will provide the IT leadership team with timely and accurate data/information and insights into the overall health of the IT organization to assist them in making informed IT business decisions. You will also provide updates on key internal IT initiatives/projects and assemble a consolidated view (high-level) on general client satisfaction and partners’ performance. You will work collaboratively (as required) with Finance, Human Resources (HR), and other stakeholders across CMHC to provide insight into the financial and human resources components of the IT organization. You will assist in several IT operational improvement projects, which require critical thinking, analysis and stakeholder management. Your support on the design and improvement of the IT operating model, including identifying key interdependencies and interaction points across IT teams, partners and clients will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
 

What you will need
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, business administration or a related discipline OR equivalent learning and experience.
• Minimum of seven years of relevant experience. Experience developing performance measures and related monitoring, analytical and reporting strategies and processes.
• Experience developing and maintaining a consolidated line of business or company-wide snapshot of finance, operations, and/or human resources performance monitoring and reporting.
• Experience analyzing line of business or sector needs and identifying how our strategy or how we operate can be adjusted to improve performance and value.
• Experience writing to convey information that is subject to interpretation and requires reasoning and analysis before it can be composed or edited (i.e. providing “Insights”).
• Awesome interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with, present to and influence, all levels of management; proactive work style with the ability to set priorities and work with minimum supervision and with a diverse group of professionals; strong work ethic, integrity and ability to work extremely well in a team environment.
• A passion for technology and an openness to work in a continually changing, dynamic work environment that is fast past, exciting and fun.


What you will be doing

 

Integrated IT Operational Dashboards and Reports
• Understands the underlying business operation and execution of strategy needs of IT leadership and develops initial, and continually improves, integrated dashboards, scorecards and reports to enable effective and efficient decision making.
• Works with other IT divisions to gather data and information from across IT to provide updates on key internal IT operations, strategy execution, IT initiatives/projects, general client satisfaction and partner performance.
• Assesses IT’s performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and its contribution towards CMHC’s corporate plan.
• Works collaboratively (as required) with Finance and HR, and other stakeholders across CMHC, to provide insight into the financial and human resources components of the IT organization.

 

Report Data / Information Accuracy
• Ensures that the integrity of underlying data and information is sound so that IT leadership can effectively make decisions.
• Proactively communicates potential IT operations and strategy execution data/information issues and helps to resolve them.
• Stays aware of potential information overload for stakeholders and creatively presents insights in a manner that is consumable.

 

Operating Model and Continuous IT Improvements
• Analyzes IT’s needs and identifies how IT’s operations and execution of its strategy can be adjusted to improve performance and deliver the best value to business lines.
• Works collaboratively on a series of internal IT improvement projects and drives results for the department and value for business lines.
• Works closely with others to keep IT’s operating model structure up to date and relevant with CMHC’s strategy, IT’s strategic directions, IT’s process improvement opportunities, business needs and partners’ processes and operations.
• Works collaboratively with the Process Specialist to maintain the IT operating model functions, IT interaction maps, IT process maps, and IT policy/procedures.
