Senior Specialist, Strategy, Product and Risk Management-Multi-Unit (Anywhere in Canada)

Join the Client Solution Team, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. You will assist management with the development and reporting on strategic direction for the sector, provide analysis and reporting on sector and corporate priorities, and contribute research and analysis to support the client experience strategy.


Responsibilities: 

•    Assist management in the development of the strategic direction for the sector, including development of an environmental scan, monitoring of emerging trends and issues, and analysis of the impacts of existing and new industry regulations and legislation on CMHC’s practices and policies.
•    Act as a project lead to drive the development and repositioning of new and existing multi-unit products and/or programs that achieve CMHC’s desired outcomes.
•    Liaise with stakeholders and staff to collect information in support of regular reporting and updates to management and the Board of Directors.
•    Conduct research and analysis, prepare briefing notes, management submissions, executive updates, and correspondence to respond to requests and concerns. 
•    Coordinate sector-level initiatives by liaising with various teams across the company to ensure objectives are set and outcomes are achieved.
•    Inform the development of the client experience strategy through fieldwork, research and analysis, liaising with staff, partners, clients and industry experts. 


Minimum Qualifications:

•    Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance or a related field.
•    Minimum of five years of experience with increasing responsibility in research, analysis and/or policy-product development.
•    Advanced knowledge of multi-unit mortgage loan insurance, lending, real estate (including non-housing related commercial), financial markets, and credit risk analysis.
•    Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills as well as able to evaluate risk/reward considerations
•    Knowledge of how social housing projects are developed and maintained, how commercial housing activity functions, and what influences the real estate market.
•    Project planning, management and measurement skills. 
•    Expert ability to identify and analyze trends, patterns or connections between issues.       
•    Advanced ability to draft understandable, clear and consistent documents on topics within the areas of responsibility and to explain the content to a variety of audiences.         
•    Ability to take initiative and work independently to develop and utilize a network within CMHC 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Confident and articulate with demonstrated ability to influence others through the delivery of presentations/ key concepts
•    Ability to multi-task in high pressure environment to meet tight timelines and deliverables.
