About the role

The successful candidates will lead the delivery of portfolio of large, highly complex, enterprise-wide and/or high-risk technology projects, ensuring appropriate identification of risks and risk mitigation strategies, while providing hands-on project management during discovery, design, development, testing, implementation and post implementation phases. In this role, you will utilize a deep understanding of technical aspects to be able to ask relevant strategic questions that will help to clarify and guide teams through priorities and decision-making. These positions will work in close collaboration with the divisional lead and multi-functional teams by facilitating execution and delivering value to the company.


What you will need

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: IT, business administration, engineering; Certified Project Management Professional credentials.
  • Minimum of seven years of prior relevant experience including experience managing complex, cross-functional, high risk IT projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading IT and multi-functional initiatives end-to-end, from scoping to proof-of-life to full fruition with an eye of optimization and efficiency and utilizing industry standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Ability to deliver a persuasive, clear presentation of ideas that will convince others and gain acceptance of proposals or plans.
  • Diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills are critical. Leadership skills are required to present complex results, influence behaviour, negotiate and set policy direction, and persuade others to take a course of action.
  • Sound analytical skills with demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information to develop recommendations and provide advice.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive ambiguous projects across multiple stakeholders to resolution and implementation.
  • Be comfortable working in an unstructured environment and leading virtual teams. 


What you will be doing

  • Establish project charters to define in detail and document the objectives for the portfolio of projects, determine, track and maintain budgetary requirements, and establish the composition, roles and responsibilities and terms of reference for each initiative under the portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Director and project teams to prioritize, plan, execute and monitor the health of each initiative/project against defined deliverables, ensuring issues are documented and addressed and that the project adheres to the agreed schedule and budget and aligns with the strategic direction of the portfolio.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of internal and external resources assigned to the project, working in close collaboration with the Corporate Project Management Office and the IT Portfolio Management Office to ensure alignment and consistency with corporate framework.
  • Provide regular reports to the Director, the Project Management Office, stakeholders, vendors, and the IT Portfolio Management Office to ensure there is a common understanding on progress against targets and budget. Make recommendations to mitigate identified risks and to address potential, emerging issues.
  • Ensure that a plan for benefits realization of each of the projects is established with baseline measurements captured at the beginning of the project and that benefits achieved are measured at completion of the project.
  • Leads and facilitates working sessions to cultivate collaboration between all stakeholders.
  • Manage the portfolio of technology and data projects, ensuring alignment with strategy and divisional objectives and provide leadership and recommendations on which projects will best achieve desired results.
