About the role
Join the Procurement Team, where we empower our clients with expert guidance and advisory services in sourcing, and procurement processes. Committed to upholding the highest ethical standards, the team ensures integrity, transparency, and excellence in procurement practices while safeguarding reputational trust. In the roles as Senior Specialist, Public Procurement you will be responsible for leading various strategic procurement projects related to risk compliance and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business delivery, Performance Management and Operational Excellence, Client and Relationship Management, Risk Management and control.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain procurement compliance programs and policies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of procurement processes to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to procurement staff on compliance-related matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to procurement and update company policies accordingly.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and other departments to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues and complaints.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement compliance.
What you should have:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or another related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Public Procurement or Supply Management or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of Procurement or Supply Management principles, practices and competitive processes.
- Strong written, presentation and spoken communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence business partners and vendors.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
It would be great if you also had:
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) accreditation.
- Knowledge of Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the ability to apply the elements of this agreement to all parts of the procurement process.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with federal government procurement tools, including supply arrangements and standing offers for goods and services.
- Proficiency in utilizing Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Shared Services Canada (SSC) tools.
- Previous Procurement knowledge and experience in the Information Management (IM) Information Technology (IT) space and dealing with IM/IT specific procurement requirements in support of digital transformation initiatives.
