Salary: Our salaries generally range from $ 104180.28 to $ 130225.36 and are based on qualifications and experience.

About the role

Join the Insurance and Securitization Team, in the Senior Specialist Modelling position. In this role, you will be focused on Lender Quality Assurance (LQA), focusing on addressing outstanding LQA MAPS for all business levels and enhancing methodology and tools used for LQA to address business needs.

 

This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of models and analytical tools across projects.
  • Partner with Business SMEs to understand requirements and incorporate their insights into modelling solutions.
  • Contribute to modelling methodology, strategy, and decision-making within cross-functional working groups.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to generate insights and support recommended approaches.
  • Develop, document, and maintain robust modelling methodologies, assumptions, and standards.
  • Produce high-quality, well-documented Python code and analytical outputs to support development and validation.
  • Address and remediate findings from Model Validation to ensure model integrity and robustness.
  • Implement models in alignment with Model Governance frameworks and ensure compliance with OSFI regulatory standards.

 

 What you should have:

 

  • A postgraduate degree or higher in quantitative disciplines such as finance, mathematics, economics, statistics or actuarial sciences.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in modelling or quantitative analytics at a bank, insurance company, asset manager or other type of financial institution.
  • Advanced experience in Python for model development, data analysis, and documentation.
  • A good understanding of Canada's financial sector and real estate markets.
  • Demonstrated experience working within model risk management frameworks and familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., OSFI or equivalent).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous analysis using critical thinking and judgment to resolve complex issues.

 

It would be great if you also had:

 

  • A familiarity with SAS Programming language.
  • A familiarity with Survey Sampling and estimation methodologies.
