About the role
Join the Infrastructure Operations team in the Senior Specialist, Infrastructure Management position. In this role, you will be responsible for quality assurance to the day-to-day performance and optimization of IT infrastructure (for both cloud and on-premises), while safeguarding the interests of CMHC. As a technical subject matter expert, you will also be responsible for cloud management and optimization practices to ensure that they are aligned with Enterprise Architecture and Security policies, directives and standards to meet business needs through effective planning, management, and execution.
What you’ll do:
- Be responsible for the establishment of priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of CMHC’s IT infrastructure systems and networks, including developing and reviewing reports, strategies, and plans to maintain infrastructure health.
- Ensure that infrastructure, network, and applications (selected, modified and/or developed) comply with architectural standards, security standards, established methodologies and practices.
- Work with the IT groups to provide expertise and specialized support to projects, as necessary.
- Support agile delivery PODS from an infrastructure perspective to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects.
- Ensure correct processes, procedures, policies, and guidelines are followed when acquiring, maintaining, installing, or deploying infrastructure components.
- Develop and update corporate standards for infrastructure management to ensure compatibility and integration of technology platforms throughout CMHC.
- Be accountable to ensure that CMHC’s IT environment is operational while keeping abreast of industry-leading practices and guidelines for IT infrastructure management.
What you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or in a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years experience in overseeing IT infrastructure, networks, and applications.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
- Demonstrated experience in directing the work of several IT third-party providers.
- Demonstrated work experience and skills in conducting business and IT requirement analysis.
- A sound knowledge of IT service delivery life cycle (incident, problem and change management).
- Strong organizational skills, including an ability to manage several ongoing and competing tasks and/or projects.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical information or project status to senior management, business units, colleagues or third-party providers.
It would be great if you also had:
- Other professional designation in cloud platform management or other relevant licence, designation, or certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring or overseeing large scale IT programs and/or projects.
