About the role
Join the Chief Financial Officer’s office in the Financial Planning and Analysis team as a Senior Specialist, Financial Planning and Analysis. You will lead the financial planning and forecasting process and the provision of complex financial expertise to clients and senior management through analytical methods and technologies. You will actively participate in process improvements to manage a portfolio of processes, systems and reporting.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in the development of annual and multi-year budgets, financial planning and forecasting, including the analysis of financial data.
- Provide direction and oversight on the formulation and recommendation of assumptions used in financial models (financial forecasting).
- Provide strategic advice to clients and senior management through the synthesis and provision of complex and predictive financial expertise on business line and corporate activities, initiatives and projects.
- Develop and prepare complex financial reports and analysis to present to clients and senior management the financial situation and identify opportunities related to revenue, cost savings or risk mitigation.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the management of the operating budget of the business lines and the Corporation while recommending potential improvements.
- Develop analysis of the financial planning and forecasting processes and procedures to identify improvements in controls, efficiency and effectiveness.
What you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, business administration, economics or commerce.
- A professional accounting designation (at least the Chartered Professional Accountant designation).
- A minimum of seven (7) years experience in a finance-related position, such as financial planning and analysis, financial reporting or business analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of financial, legislative and regulatory environments.
- Ability to analyze data, develop complex financial models and assess sector/organizational capacity and resource utilization.
- Hands-on experience in budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting on financial results.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to negotiate and communicate to influence colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
It would be great if you also had:
- Knowledge of complex IFRS standards.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and in French.
