About the role
Join the Enterprise Data Office in the Senior Specialist, Data and Information position. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a Master Data Management solution. You will also help the organization realize the full value of its data assets and capabilities, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient sharing of data across CMHC.  


What you’ll do:    

  • Lead and conduct the identification, documentation, and approval of requirements from business and technical teams for the implementation of Data Management capabilities such as Data Quality Management, Reference Data Management and Master Data Management (functional and non-functional). 
  • Lead and conduct the user acceptance testing phase for the implementation of DQM, RDM & MDM and support the change management team on the implementation of a federated stewardship framework for master data. 
  • Contribute to the continuous revision of the data management roadmap, identifying and prioritizing Data domains. 
  • Develop and lead the execution of an implementation plan for each priority Master Data domain. 
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, define data governance standards, and align data management initiatives with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and business users to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across the organization.
  • Conduct research and analysis on proposed legislative/regulatory changes, industry leading practices, employee needs and technological advances to determine requirements for governing and managing data. 
  • Provide training and support to business units on DQM, RDM & MDM tools and processes to enhance data management capabilities.


What you should have:  

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, finance, or commerce and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Governance and/or Data management processes and technology.   
  • An experience implementing systems into production, from conceptual to support, in a variety of data related projects (data migration, data quality implementation, data quality issue resolution, data policy implementation, data privacy, data security, data masking, data science, data engineering, master and reference data, data catalogue, etc.). 
  • An experience implementing MDM / RDM, DQ and data cataloging tools (preference will be given for Informatica experience) and experience leveraging data discovery and data profiling techniques and tools.  
  • A strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory and compliance standards. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical and systems thinking skills. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills with the ability to persuade, influence and debate with a variety of audiences using tact, diplomacy and judgment.  
  • Excellent ability to understand and align technical solutions to business goals.  


It would be great if you also had:  

  • Bilingualism (French and English) 
  • An experience with business architecture models.
  • An experience with project management and progress tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • An experience with Agile development methodologies.
