About the role
Join the Corporate Services team, in the Senior Specialist, Compliance and Quality Assurance position. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in risk management, analysis, reporting, and relationship‑building to support the ongoing development and governance of the Third-Party Risk Management Program. This includes ensuring alignment with OSFI Guideline B‑10 on Third‑Party Risk Management.  You will also be accountable for offering strategic input into policy and program direction and for strengthening risk governance, including operational risk management and internal controls.

This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months.


 
What you’ll do: 
 

  • Develop and oversee third-party risk management processes and practices for the collection, analysis, and evaluation of information to meet assignment objectives.
  • Identify trends, gaps, errors and risk incidents, and propose improvements to reduce risks.
  • Ensure CMHC’s third-party risk management policy and program are aligned with OSFI Guideline B-10 on Third-Party Risk Management.
  • Provide expert advice to other team members on the execution of third-party risk ongoing monitoring, testing, evaluating and reporting on key processes, controls and policy/program requirements, assessing rigor in the application of policies, procedures and controls. 
  • Establish and maintain key performance measures and/or risk indicators and outcome targets to improve business effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with key CMHC partners, including Procurement, Legal, Risk Management, and other oversight or monitoring functions, to promote risk awareness and ensure the effective identification and monitoring of risks and controls.
  • Analyze data sets and information to provide management with quantitative and qualitative information for decision making. 
  • Validate findings with CMHC departments and relevant management, develop clear written reports detailing results and recommendations, and contribute to management debriefs.

 

What you should have: 
  

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, risk management, finance or economics. 
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of prior relevant experience in risk management and knowledge of risk management, policy development, quality assurance and oversight. 
  • Sound judgment, analytical thinking, problem-solving, sound judgement and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 

 
It would be great if you also had: 

 

  • Knowledge and/or prior experience in application of the OSFI Guideline B-10 Third-Party Risk Management.
