This position reports to the Operations team in our Office of the SVP, Client Operations sector. This sector makes delivering housing affordability solutions easy.

 

About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships.

This Senior Officer, Operations (Real Estate) position is an exceptional opportunity for a results-oriented team player to work on a dynamic national team. The Senior Officer, Real Estate Operations is responsible for an evolving portfolio of 1-6 unit default residential properties. Responsibilities include building strong relationships with external real estate and property management service providers, and with internal partners involved in vendor management, claims and conveyancing.

In this role, you will capitalize on your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, knowledge of real estate markets, and ability to analyze, negotiate and make sound decisions. Your ability to manage default properties will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
 

What you will need
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in Real Estate,
• Undergraduate degree in business, finance or commerce, or equivalent experience and education 
• Strong knowledge of real estate marketing, sales and property management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of real estate market trends and developments in Canada
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Decision-making skills

• Successful completion of a professional association designation
• Lean Six Sigma

 

What you will be doing
 

Default Real Estate Operations
• Managing a portfolio of default real estate properties, from acquisition, to marketing, sales, and property management
• Communicating with outsourced providers regarding decisions, interpretation of  policies and responses to inquiries
• Negotiating solutions in line with risk appetite
• Providing effective and efficient delivery of services to contribute to service standards

 

Analysis and Reporting
• Conducting detailed performance monitoring, quality assurance verification, and analysis of external vendor performance with respect to risk and mitigation strategies
• Exercising due diligence to ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures
• Reviewing and approving pricing analysis and recommendations for property sales

 

Relationship Management
• Maintaining effective relationships with service providers and stakeholders
• Working in a virtual team environment and contribute to service standards and turnaround times
• Using effective oral and written communication techniques to deliver quality service
• Taking immediate action to address client needs and inquiries
