Join the Data Dissemination Team within the Data, Research and Insights group, where we accelerate housing affordability through the database management and data dissemination services, front line client service delivery, data infrastructure maintenance and product support to help facilitate access to CMHC’s housing market data for both internal and external clients.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 1 year.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining reliable and efficient automated technical databases on internal and external housing and economic market data, including corresponding metadata.
- Assessing and responding to external and internal client data and information needs, including conducting demonstrations of CMHC’s suite of housing market data products.
- Disseminating economic and housing market data to analysts and/or researchers in a concise, user-friendly format to support report production, analysis, and research activities.
- Assisting with the dissemination of reports, publications, and data tables to the CMHC website and compiling website and product download metrics for performance measurement.
- Staging and validating data for publishing on the Housing Market Information Portal (HMIP) and conducting data verification and quality checks for all data products.
- Providing a range of administrative support functions including client invoicing, and working with third party data providers, re-distributors, and contractors.
- Administering a client satisfaction survey and compiling the results of this survey to determine service metrics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Commitment to CMHC values.
- Post-secondary education in business administration, mathematics/statistics, economics, geography or related disciplines with a minimum of one (1) year experience in similar roles. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of market research concepts, information storage and data retrieval processes
- Demonstrated experience in handling multiple, concurrent projects and work activities, with tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, including some project management skills. The ability to prioritize and complete numerous simultaneous and recurring work projects a must.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles to communicate messages that have the desired effect.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in the use of office productivity software packages (MS Office s-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint), Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, web browsers and search engines a must. Knowledge of and skills using data management and statistical software (such as SAS and EViews) and experience querying data and using data visualization, data governance/ data management, analytics/data mining tools such as Power BI, Collibra, Hue, R, Python, Cloudera considered a strong asset. Knowledge of Secure Managed File Transfer (SMFT) and Simple Survey would also be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated client service skills; the ability to understand and meet client needs and resolve issues reliably and efficiently.
