About the role
Join the Data Processing team, in the Senior Analyst, Information Business Systems position, where you’ll provide data services to clients by translating data needs into actionable data requirements by using programming, data manipulation and data governance principles and techniques to store, curate and process data from various sources to make data available to clients.
This is a temporary position with a duration of 12 months.
What you’ll do :
- Provide comprehensive data services to clients including data structure design, governance, quantitative analysis and programming.
- Analyze data requirements from multiple parties, and consults with clients as needed, to create (program) data products that satisfy the needs of varied parties while still respecting the terms of use for each data source.
- Build data sets by extracting and structuring data in both a manual and automated fashion.
- Develop and continually run pipelines/processes to store data centrally to ensure that it is available to users on a timely basis.
- Introduce new and follow existing processes to ensure that all disseminated products contain accurate data and are of high quality, which could involve, but is not limited to, proofreading/analyzing data, data tables and cross verification of reports.
- Develop and document business rules and data quality metrics to track and report on data quality within established corporate data governance/quality frameworks.
- Manage and complete multiple simultaneous projects for a number of different clients using project management skills, as well as participates in team settings requiring work on multiple projects.
- Track and report on fulfilment of requests and create awareness around data that has been acquired.
What you should have :
- An undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.
- A minimum of three years of quantitative analysis experience.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in programming languages for data manipulation and analysis such as R or Python or SAS.
- Working knowledge of data structures (databases, data warehousing and data governance).
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to undertake and complete multiple concurrent tasks.
- The ability to take initiative and work independently or on a team.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
