This position reports to our Policy Measurement and Analysis team in our Office of the SVP, Policy and Innovation sector. This sector helps with housing affordability through evidence-based policy, research and disruptive innovation.


About the role

We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. This is an exceptional opportunity within the Policy division to contribute to analysis, measurement, strategy, and policy and program development that will improve housing and living conditions in Canada.


What you will need

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field such as Economics and a demonstrated interest in public policy.
  • Depth of experience in data analysis (minimum of two (2) years of work experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources and apply them in a quantitative context.
  • Experience with advanced Excel functions. Experience with PowerBI, R, Python, or Alteryx would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with modelling approaches, which could include forecasting, projection, impact assessment, cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and performance management framework.
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and writing skills to effectively and succinctly present quantitative results and policy considerations. Experience with data visualization would be considered an asset.
  • Tact and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive issues and communicating with others.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on individual projects, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with others.
  • Great organization and problem-solving skills.


What you will be doing

  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to support evidenced based advice on housing policies, programs and strategies, and to provide evidence for recommendations to senior management and the Minister.
  • Analyzing, synthesizing and presenting information to provide decision makers with input on housing policy and other public policy topics.
  • Working with others to develop solutions to complex measurement questions.
