About the role
Join the Digital Platforms team where you'll oversee project execution and manage client relationships with various Business Lines. In this role, you'll be part of a team that is responsible for conceptualization, coding, and testing related to our corporate websites and digital applications, while serving as a subject matter expert in web development and web design best practices.
What you’ll do:
- Develop high-quality efficient code, adhering to software development best practices.
- Design website layouts to match high-fidelity mock-ups using the latest HTML/CSS/JS techniques.
- Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and propose web solutions.
- Collaborate across teams (user experience, design, content, marketing, and business) to ensure timely content publication on digital platforms.
- Stay updated on industry technologies, web design trends, and development practices (e.g. web content management systems, digital marketing, SEO, accessibility, mobile).
- Identify and rectify HTML errors and implement process enhancements to maintain quality control.
- Engage with internal and external IT partners for backend development to support business and marketing objectives.
- Lead initiatives to modernize digital platforms, enhancing both user experience and operational efficiency.
What you should have:
- A post-secondary education in a related field such as technology, computer science, or interactive design.
- A minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience in web development.
- Demonstrated project management experience, particularly in websites and/or intranets, with the ability to manage changing priorities and conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in client relationship management, including influencing and negotiating.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- In-depth experience with web content management systems.
- An expertise in:
- HTML 5/XHTML, CSS.
- JavaScript and JavaScript libraries.
- Web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 Level AA).
- Information architecture principles, SEO, user experience and web usability principles.
- Mobile design.
- Digital marketing best practices.
- Practical experience working with coding software such as Visual Studio Code or Dreamweaver.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience working with Sitecore CMS, including content authoring, site administration, and template development to support business objectives.
- Experience working in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of Agile principles, frameworks and best practices.
- Adobe Design and Web Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop) proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint CMS, including site administration, content management, and customization to meet business needs.
- Successful completion of a web development and user experience certification.
- Knowledge of back-end coding and ASP.NET (e.g. C#, VB.NET).
