We are currently hiring for a full-time Clerk, Accounting Intern for a 4-month term this Fall (September – December) in the city of Ottawa.

Responsibilities:
- Ensures the timely verification and payment of financial transactions received from corporate transactional systems, invoices, and expense vouchers.
- Investigates and resolves payment and processing and settlement exceptions and discrepancies using various systems
- Manages several assigned processes such as the federal and provincial online tax payments, lending and subsidy disbursements, and cash forecasting.
- Identifies opportunities for improving accuracy and/or efficiencies by contributing to the design and testing of enhancements and providing training as part of implementation.
- Provides oversight for financial data transactions to ensure the accurate recording of data from corporate financial and/or transactional systems, invoices and expense vouchers and the reconciliation, balancing, analysis and reporting in support of the records.
- Updates or recommends improvements to internal processes or financial systems, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in business administration, accounting, or finance.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting operations.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work in a multi-demand environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate accounting policies.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial and internal control frameworks, requirements and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations software.
- Bilingual (English & French).
