About the role
Join the Infrastructure and Operations Team, in the Database Administrator (SQL Server / Azure SQL) position. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day operation and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid environments. You will help ensure systems are secure, reliable, and resilient while supporting operational, lifecycle, and automation initiatives in partnership with the IT Infrastructure Lead.
What you’ll do:
- Provide day‑to‑day operational support for enterprise infrastructure, including server and virtualization platforms, networking and voice/video, storage and backup, and database systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and escalating complex problems when needed.
- Support upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives with minimal service disruption.
- Maintain security, backup, and disaster recovery readiness, supporting patching, remediation, and testing activities.
- Use automation, tooling, and documentation to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support integrated services and continuous improvement.
What you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience can be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of managing enterprise SQL database experience.
- Hands‑on experience across core infrastructure domains (networking, virtualization, storage/backup, databases).
- Experience supporting on‑premises Microsoft SQL 2005 to 2025 and Azure SQL environments.
- Knowledge of ITSM processes (incident, problem, change).
- Strong troubleshooting, automation (e.g., PowerShell), and communication skills.
Technologies:
- Microsoft SQL 2005 to 2025, Azure SQL.
- Virtualization & Compute – VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix.
- Cloud & Hybrid Platforms – Microsoft Azure.
- Storage, Backup & Recovery – Enterprise storage and backup solutions.
- Automation & Monitoring – PowerShell and infrastructure monitoring tools.
It would be great if you also had:
- Exposure to enterprise infrastructure environments, with experience in one or more domains such as networking, virtualization, storage/backup, or databases.
- Familiarity with regulated or security‑sensitive environments, including audit, compliance, remediation activities, and basic hybrid cloud concepts.
- Progressing industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Azure, networking) and ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management training are considered assets.
