About the role
Join the Corporate Services sector where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. Your risk management experience and passion for analysis and reporting will support the continued development and governance of the third-party risk management program. You will provide oversight and monitoring of the third-party risk management program, including performing the challenge function on third-party risk assessments, inbound and outbound third-party attestations, vendor performance management activities and internal controls that help manage CMHC’s third-party risk exposure introduced through Corporate procurement activities.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the execution of third-party risk ongoing monitoring, testing, evaluating and reporting on key processes, controls and policy/program requirements, assessing vendor risk assessments and consistency in the application of policies, procedures and controls.
- Develop third-party risk management and procurement reporting, through the analysis of data sets, that provide management with quantitative and qualitative information for decision making.
- Triaging requests from clients to respond to outbound third-party attestations. Liaising with internal teams/subject matter experts (legal, compliance, IT security, etc.) to ensure timely, comprehensive responses and alignment with regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Maintaining a knowledge base of commonly requested attestation documents and responses. Managing client questionnaires, risk assessments, and due diligence requests.
- Provide recommendations to management to improve the attestation process, updates to attestations and responses to clients, and other clients’ related requests.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of key performance measures, risk indicators and outcome targets to improve business effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure appropriate risk awareness, risk and control identification and monitoring by working closely with applicable CMHC personnel (e.g., Privacy, Security and other Risk Management oversight/monitoring groups).
- Provide insight on risk and control matters, including remediation actions to address issues and make recommendations for improvement to management.
- Discuss/validate findings and facts with CMHC personnel and appropriate level of management throughout the assignment. Prepare written communications on results and recommendations for improvement and participate in debriefs with management.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, finance or economics.
- A minimum of five years of prior relevant experience in risk management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, quality assurance and oversight.
- Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- The ability to apply judgment, tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience in working in compliance or oversight of IT, cybersecurity, privacy, or other types of operational risks.
- Knowledge of the OSFI B-10 Third-Party Risk Management Guideline.
