About the role

Join the Information Technology team, in the Specialist, Systems position. In this role, you will be responsible for the full ownership and accountability of business requirements and play a key part in delivering innovative, high-impact products that solve real business challenges. The Specialist will own the end-to-end process of defining and managing business requirements that directly shape the development of scalable, user-centered solutions. Serve as the key link between business stakeholders and technical teams—translating strategic needs into clear, actionable requirements.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Own the discovery and analysis of complex business problems—accountable for eliciting, creating, validating, and maintaining high-quality business requirements that drive scalable, value-focused solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Take responsibility for translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria—ensuring alignment across cross-functional stakeholders and accountability for the clarity, completeness, and quality of requirements delivered to development teams.
  • Convert strategic goals into system features and process improvements, owning the prioritization and resolution of ambiguity while balancing business and technical trade-offs across multiple platforms and lines of businesses.
  • Define and control the scope of work, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies—accountable to ensure that business requirements remain viable and aligned throughout dynamic and evolving project lifecycles.
  • Drive Agile delivery by facilitating key ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) with accountability for ensuring consistent alignment, transparency, and momentum on high-impact initiatives.
  • Lead the adoption of Agile best practices, holding teams accountable for continuous improvement and actively promoting a culture of adaptability, learning, and innovation across the delivery ecosystem.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in business processes, Agile methodologies, and enterprise requirements engineering, guiding teams through uncertainty and change.
  • Influence without authority, facilitating collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups and POD team members to align on shared outcomes.

 

What you should have:

 

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, business administration or commerce and/or, Agile certification.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Project management skills acquired through the management of small to medium-sized projects.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal capabilities with demonstrated ability to interface and work with colleagues, always showing tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to reason logically and recognize assumptions.

 

It would be great if you also had:

 

  • Knowledge of CMHC Core Business Systems such as CRM, ERP, GSL or others
  • A master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Bilingualism (French & English).
