Bilingual Indigenous Senior Specialist, Financial Solutions (Position located anywhere in Canada)

Join the Client Solution Team, where we collaborate with our partners to solve housing affordability challenges. Supports the review and approval of Indigenous and northern, multi-unit applications. Provides strategic direction, technical advice and leadership on the assessment of applications and financial models to meet objectives. Ensures linkage with other divisions of Client Solutions and Client Operations; Legal Services, Treasury and Finance; and other federal departments for the provision of comprehensive services to clients. Drives relationships with key business partners (internal and external), is accountable for performance targets and ensures appropriate risk awareness and mitigation within area of responsibility.

 

Responsibilities: 
• Identifying and managing risk by ensuring due diligence while reviewing and approving complex applications, monitoring the quality of results and reviewing key performance indicators.
• Providing strategic input into the divisional vision and the development of policy enhancements for the functional area.
• Managing the review and decision while ensuring guidelines and procedures are followed by leading the process of reviewing and approving contributions and loan applications.
• Providing coaching on technical financial tools and reviews applications.
• Fostering a client-centric, focused, performance-oriented culture while building and maintaining relationships with senior-level stakeholders within the housing industry and the federal government.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients in order to assess their requirements and satisfaction and identify product development and improvement opportunities.
• Managing issues of a politically sensitive nature using critical thinking, judgment and experience to finding a solution.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics and/or commerce. Certification in Real Estate Finance (CRF), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation would be considered an asset.
• Minimum of seven years experience in construction financing, real estate, financial markets and credit risk analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in program administration.
• Expert knowledge of Housing finance and federally funded Affordable Housing programs and their context.
• An understanding of the implications of public policy and political environment on federal and provincial housing programs.
• Experience in motivating, leading and developing people.
