Salary: Our salaries generally range from $ 70354.2 to $ 87942.74 and are based on qualifications and experience.

About the role

Join the Centralized Procurement team  where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. Your strong analytical and negotiation skills and passion for relationship building will help ensure the execution of strategic sourcing, planning and sourcing strategies for business lines for complex and large sourcing files. This will include facilitating complex bid processes for goods and services, identifying and mitigating risk, drafting and negotiating contracts, providing advice and solutions, training and educating business units about procurement policies. 

 

What you'll do: 

 

  • Collaborate with business lines to proactively plan sourcing and provide industry-specific expertise on procurement and sourcing strategies. 
  • Coordinate the open tender process and negotiate contracts with the objective of obtaining the best value for CMHC. 
  • Manage upstream procurement content and strategic supplier relationships, including collaboration opportunities, and resolve issues and disputes. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement knowledge of other team members. 
  • Interface with contract management stakeholders for processing and resourcing support. 
  • Provide input into objective setting for procurement and sourcing for CMHC.  
  • Provide expertise and support for the development, implementation and management of corporate contracting policies and procedures. 

 

What you should have:

 

  • A post-secondary education in business or degree in business administration, finance or a related field.  
  • A minimum of five (5) years of public procurement experience working in a diverse environment with 3+ years’ experience facilitating complex bid processes. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public procurement, privacy legislation, current trade agreements, public sector procurement standards.  
  • Customer service focused approach to procurement and contract management and the ability to build effective working relationships and influence decisions by explaining the impact that recommendations have on both the business unit and the organization. 
  • Strong track record of negotiating contracts and knowledge.  
  • Strong communication skills in both English and French: ability to listen, write, read and articulate and/or comprehend complex documentation  
  • Project management skills and ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines with limited direction.  
  • Strong ability to conduct in-depth analysis of variable problems and use critical thinking and judgment to identify solutions that are often difficult to find. 

 

It would be great if you also had:

 

  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.
