About the role

Join the Housing Program Team in the Bilingual Senior Officer, Operations position. In this role, you will oversee the administration and decisions relevant to underwriting, servicing and lending activities for the purpose of mitigating risks will help support and provide good client service and achieve corporate objectives.  
   
This is a temporary position for a duration of 18 months.  
   
What you’ll do:  

  • Offer advice, support and alternative solutions to clients and stakeholders including communication of key decisions, interpretation of policies and response to inquiries.
  • Negotiate reasonable solutions in line with risk appetite.  
  • Provide effective and efficient delivery of services to contribute to service standards.  
  • Conduct detailed audit analyses involving program/product requirements.  
  • Participate in internal processes involving performance monitoring and quality assurance by reviewing and preparing detailed report on outcomes.  
  • Exercise prudence and diligence to ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures applicable to the function.  
  • Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities as a team to contribute to appropriate service standards and turnaround times.  
  • Use effective oral and written communication techniques to deliver quality service.  

   
What you should have:  

  • An undergraduate degree in business, finance or commerce.  
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in lending activities and administration.  
  • A strong knowledge of procedures, policies and regulations.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.   
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).  
  • Knowledge of market trends, developments and industry partners in Canada.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.  
  • A strong understanding of serviced client groups in Canada, including related legal documentation.  

   
It would be great if you also had:  

  • The successful completion of a professional association designation.   
  • A sound knowledge of mortgage financing and real estate laws, default remedy and/or property administration.  
  • Experience training and onboarding staff.
