About the role 
  
Join the Enterprise Data Office where we lead our data transformation by improving data management capabilities to manage data as an asset and to enable CMHC’s mission.  In the role of Bilingual Senior Manager, Data Management, you will support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a Data Quality Management solution. You will also help the organization realize the full value of its data assets and capabilities, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient sharing of data across CMHC. 
 
What you’ll do:

 

  • Develop standardized frameworks, repeatable processes, controls, and KPIs to measure and improve data and information governance performance. 
  • Participate in relevant corporate information and data governance committees. 
  • Work with CMHC leaders from business and IT to identify opportunities to leverage data for strategic advantage and document data-driven business initiatives. 
  • Co-lead the management of the portfolio of data-driven initiatives and ensure they support business objectives aligned with CMHC's strategic goals. 
  • Lead and manage the operationalization of the overall data management and data quality practices within the data and analytics operating model through the implementation and scaling of data management capabilities. 
  • Provide expertise and leadership in the design, development, and operationalization of comprehensive corporate information governance policies. 
  • Promote organizational change towards a data-driven culture and work with change management staff to communicate the data governance strategy to all stakeholders.  

 
What you should have: 

 

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as computer systems, information management, or business administration. 
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data governance and management , including 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • An extensive experience with data management practices, processes, and technologies (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Microsoft). 
  • A strong knowledge of governance frameworks and performance measures. 
  • An extensive knowledge of data management and data quality standards, implementation approaches, and compliance requirements. 
  • Strong leadership skills to influence behaviors and provide strategic advice to Senior Management. 
  • Advanced communication skills with experience in developing and operationalizing policies, directives, and standards. 
  • The ability to implement and continuously improve the Enterprise Data and Information Governance operating model. 
  • Bilingualism (English and French).

  
It would be great if you also had:
  

  • A broad understanding of mortgage loan insurance, affordable/social programs, real estate, and/or finance. 
  • A Certified Information and Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) certification or equivalent industry-recognized certifications. 
  • A Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA) and/or Certified Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) certification. 
  • An awareness of data privacy regulations and Data Quality industry standards (e.g., C-11, GDPR, DQM, ISO).
