This position is in the Business Relationships and Portfolio team in our Office of the Chief Information Officer division in the Corporate Services Sector.
As a trusted, results-oriented team player, you will be acting as the interface between the business and IT to ensure that IT is positioned as a true strategic enabler and helping the business achieve its results and objectives. You will be working in partnership with the business, as well as external providers, to understand their business, processes and challenges and proactively identify where technology could be leveraged to provide additional value. You will be liaising with and serving as an advocate for the business regarding ongoing service delivery, including ensuring services are meeting their needs, identifying where changes in existing services may be required, and identifying and escalating issues. You will also be taking a portfolio view of business applications to ensure that business capabilities are enabled through key enterprise architecture and CMHC’s target technology landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Fostering key strategic relationships with peers and the external partner to ensure the business’s objectives and priorities are aligned with CMHC’s mandate, vision and strategic goals.
- Participating in short and long-term strategic planning sessions (including the prioritization of IT demands) with the business to shape demand.
- Assessing client needs on an ongoing basis and proactively providing strategic consultation on service delivery alternatives and working with business units to evaluate requested changes in service delivery and initiating the process for change, when required.
- Monitoring and evaluating the execution of IT plans within business units, including mitigating the risk of business value loss during project/program planning and execution.
- Communicating with business leaders and sponsors to discuss performance results and recommending options for optimization when addressing deviations (gaps).
- Ensuring that correct procedures are followed when defining, designing, implementing and maintaining technology in the business units. Sharing accountability for IT benefits realization with the business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, management information systems, business administration, or commerce.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of increasing responsibilities experience in service delivery or business relationship management related role. An equivalent combination of related education and work experience may be considered.
- Proven and demonstrated experience in managing business relationships, change management, and working with business lines and internal/external IT providers.
- Demonstrated experience in creating presentations, reports and briefings for senior management.
- Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization and to interact with various levels of management in a multi-tasking, deadline-oriented team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, including the ability to influence and adjust the communication approach to targeted audiences with proven analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Persistent, determined and resilient, with a strong focus on outcomes and a customer service orientation.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in IT service management (ITSM), ITIL in service strategy and/or continuous service improvement, Project Management Professional (PMP), ScrumMaster, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) or other relevant license, designation or certificate.
