This position reports to the Mortgage Insurance team in our Client Solutions sector. This sector is the change agent who modernize CMHC’s homeowner mortgage insurance business. This is a full-time, two-year contract opportunity that can be located anywhere in Canada.

 

About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. You will coordinate the change management activities of a major technology-driven business transformation project. As a member of the Change Management team, you will draw on your project and change management skills to strategize and orchestrate the delivery of key change management activities for internal and external audiences. You will work closely with members of the Change Management team, members of the broader project team, business leads, and other communication and client-facing teams within CMHC to ensure communication, engagement, consultation and training activities are carried out according to a comprehensive and evolving Change Management/Communications/Training plan. You will understand and communicate the business and technical vision and underlying objectives of the project to relevant audiences. 
 

What you will need
•    Undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, finance, engineering, and commerce or a related discipline.
•    Minimum of five years of experience of recently demonstrated project management and/or change management experience.
•    Experience in managing all or key aspects of medium to large projects.
•    Experience in the areas of process design, business/systems solution design, and change management strategy.
•    Experience in identifying and resolving project conflicts related to resources, schedules, costs, etc.
•    Experience in conducting risk analysis and identifying appropriate contingencies.
•    Experience in preparing reports and briefing materials for, and delivering presentations to project governance, sponsors and senior management.
•    Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage a range of priorities, at the strategic and operational level, under tight deadlines, with ambiguity and in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful situations.
•    Experienced team player with a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines.
•    Sound analytical skills with demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information to develop recommendations and provide advice.
•    Superior written and verbal communication skills, including influencing and negotiating skills.
•    Ability to deliver a persuasive, clear presentation of ideas that will convince others to gain acceptance of proposals or plans (small or large audiences).
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, including peers, direct reports, internal clients and senior external contacts.

 

 Assets
•    Other certifications (Six Sigma, Prince 2, Agile, Prosci).
•    Experience in drafting and editing internal (employee-focused) and external (client-facing) communications material   

 

What you will be doing
•    Coordinating and orchestrating the internal and external change management activities of a major IT-driven business transformation project.
•    Supporting broader project planning to establish scope, assumptions, constraints, deliverables, interim milestones, work breakdown structure, and resource requirements.
•    Facilitating and/or developing strategies to achieve project outcomes.
•    Responding to and managing issues, changes and evolving client expectations as needed.
•    Coordinating with other transformation team members, business leads, account managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution of the change management plan.
•    Contributing to the risk log and ensuring that all project team members and stakeholders are aware of and understand the risks, and are actively reducing the probability of occurrence where possible.
•     Preparing and/or advising on change communication material for internal and external audiences, including info-site content, Powerpoint decks, emails and newsletters.
•    Preparing timely status updates and project reviews to project sponsor, senior management, and project governance as required.

 
 Assets
•    Other certifications (Six Sigma, Prince 2, Agile, Prosci).
