Join the CMHC Data Governance Team! Here you will manage a team of data management specialists that support the day-to-day business activities of our data management platform and framework. Your people management skills coupled with your passion for data will lead the team through priorities and decision-making while helping to support the delivery of projects.


Please note this is a temporary position ending in November 2023.




  • Sets objectives and takes responsibility for engagement, enabling a culture of learning, performance management and accountability. 
  • Leads the day-to-day activities of the data management operations team, managing team capacity and assignments.
  • Supports the use of both official languages in the workplace and implements practices to advance an inclusive, healthy organization, that is free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Tracks budget operating expenditures. 
  • Timely and accurately report on business performance and results for internal and external stakeholders, including reporting on the operational budget of the division.
  • Leads the identification and implementation of process improvements to create efficiencies and enhance our stakeholders’ experience. 
  • Assumes responsibility for forecasting the achievement of goals, including the determination of timelines, the identification of risks and the provision of recommendations to enable decision making. 
  • Participates in IT operations committees to provide escalation and solution follow up on issues arising from the data management platform.
  • Leads the development of procedures to guide the use of the data management platform. 


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree in a related field such as Information or Data Management or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of three years of direct supervisory or people management experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience in data management and analytics related positions with increasing responsibilities. 
  • Advanced demonstration of leadership skills including leading through change and enabling performance excellence and innovation.
  • Advanced ability to engage with others, getting buy-in to deliver results and skillfully influencing to build support and enhance credibility.
  • Expert ability to think through issues by separating out the parts of the problem or situation and thinking things through systematically.
  • Advanced ability to identify, assess and manage risk.
  • Solid business planning, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English). 


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Professional certification (for example, PMP, Risk Management).
  • Experience with Data Management systems, Data Cataloguing tools such as Collibra, Informatica, IBM, Cloud Infrastructure or other key business-related tools.
