Join the Chief of Staff Team where we use financial foresight and legal insight to improve housing affordability. You will execute the conception, planning and production of graphics used in a wide variety of communications channels such as dynamic still and motion graphics for CMHC’s social channels, presentation decks, publications, website, events, and marketing materials. You will have to translate directions from complex written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into a visual form that can be easily adapted to a variety of audiences on multiple digital and traditional platforms. You will also create engaging and creative graphics to visually represent the Corporation’s brand and communications. As an Officer on the team, you are a proactive individual, with well-developed critical thinking skills who is able to process, react to, and solve problems in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates the Corporation’s brand and communications priorities through graphic design.
- Consults with internal colleagues to obtain project objectives, target audiences, specifications, collateral, existing materials and deliverable deadlines.
- Defines and implements graphic requirements that fit business and corporate objectives that support and promote brand awareness.
- Determines which photographs, art, or other design elements to use and provides strategic advice to business lines in order to use visual storytelling to engage their target audiences in a meaningful and compelling way.
- Translates complex written or spoken ideas and converts them seamlessly into a visual form that can be easily understood and adapted to a variety of audiences on multiple digital and traditional platforms.
- Creates dynamic still and motion graphics for CMHC’s social channels, presentation decks, website, publications, events and marketing materials.
- Develops original design concepts for multiple, simultaneous projects. Creates engaging infographics to summarize and amplify key messages and complex business ideas. Creates charts and graphs for quick dissemination of data.
- Creates final designs, working to deadline. Amends designs according to client and colleague feedback. Proofreads and prepare designs for final state.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in interactive multimedia design, graphic design, illustration, fine arts or a related subject.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience working with corporate brands.
- Demonstrated proficiency in video editing, picture processing and design layout applications: Adobe Creative Suite CC including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After effects. Experience with online advertising, banner design and production, rich media advertising, publications, HTML emails and other emerging technologies.
- Proven knowledge of online/digital animation and motion graphics techniques and proven knowledge of responsive and adaptive design for mobile and tablet.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp client needs and to consider and propose practical and creative solutions.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience, including the ability to balance changing priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to present design solutions to clients, negotiate and use lateral thinking to propose solutions to meet client needs and achieve overall corporate and web outcomes.
- Attention to detail and ability in flexible and creative thinking.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French).
