About the role
Join the Corporate Governance Team where we promote good governance and support the organization’s decision-making process. As a Bilingual Officer, Corporate Governance, your skills and passion for building new relationships, data analysis and process improvements will support in guiding clients through the governance process, assisting with the delivery of committee material, and ensuring the safeguard of corporate records.
What you'll do:
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and creation of committee meetings. Prepare meeting agendas and review material format to ensure it is compliant with the corporate standards.
- Actively engage clients, including senior management, to establish and maintain open lines of communication to facilitate the production and dissemination of committee matters.
- Maintain a document dissemination platform (Diligent), and regularly liaises with the supplier’s representative on matters related to security controls, licence assignment, and new or improved platform capabilities.
- Support employees across the Corporation with the use of the governance standards and plays a key role in encouraging the use of best practices.
- Keep abreast of evolving governance principles and standards.
- Respond to requests (internal and external) for information by identifying and retrieving the relevant documents.
What you should have:
- Undergraduate degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in a related function. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder relations skills.
- Ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of tasks and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence.
- Ability to prioritize work activities to desired business goals when faced with tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to analyze various data and metrics with a view to identifying issues and risks and making recommendations for resolution of same.
- Knowledge of governance principles and committee coordination. Knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Planner.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
It would be great if you also had:
- Knowledge of the Diligent Board Portal.
