Salary: Our salaries generally range from $ 148670.65 to $ 185838.31 and are based on qualifications and experience.

As our Director, Research, in the Policy sector, you will lead the development, analysis and production of economic, socio-economic, technical, financial and data insights to achieve sector and corporate priorities that support data-driven and evidence-based decision and policy making. You will work in conjunction with other members of the leadership team to increase the depth, breadth and relevancy of this research, including implications for the company’s strategy, housing industry stakeholders and participants, academics and government policy-makers.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leads the division in anticipating key housing-related questions and maximizing insights founded on key research and data in support of sector priorities and initiatives, including support of policy recommendations, contribution to the corporate strategy and the measurement and evaluation of outcomes tied to the National Housing Strategy, leveraging strong communication and knowledge mobilization efforts.
  • Draws on internal and external networks (such as key agencies, industry stakeholders, academics and associations) to identify sources of information and support to achieve results within expected timelines.
  • Leads analytical, project-based assignments and ensures a substantive level of expertise is provided to a range of projects, including concept development and forecasting and facilitation of innovative approaches for the resolution of complex issues.
  • Works with the team to continuously reassess deliverables, timelines and resources required to complete projects on time and within scope, while ensuring a framework that ensures quality, reliable, methodologically sound and timely analyses and information.
  • Contributes to the ongoing strategy development and divisional business planning and ensures research/insights support the understanding and achievement of corporate, sector and divisional goals.
  • Instills a client-centred, focused and performance-oriented culture and prioritizes collaboration across the organization, with active integration with policy and the economist team to inform research scope and objectives.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field such as business or public administration, commerce, economics or finance. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of thirteen years’ experience in housing policy, economics, public administration, or other related fields including five years in managing and leading teams of subject matter experts with the ability to deliver complex projects.   
  • Exceptional understanding and knowledge of the Canadian economy, socio-economic policies, mortgage markets and housing markets and conditions and the factors affecting them.
  • Proficient ability to communicate technical information to non-technical internal and external clients in both official languages (French and English).
  • Solid communicator with the ability to influence and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
