About the role
Join the Accounting Operations Team in the Analyst, Accounting position. Your skills and passion for accounting, data analysis and process improvements will support the cash and bank management, accounts receivable (AR) process execution, periodic tax and accounting transactions. In this role you will cover a range of activities related to accounting, reconciliation, reporting and analysis. 
 
This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months. 

 

What you’ll do:
 

  • Ensure the timely reception and posting of cash receipts, post journal entries, maintain accurate records, process, analyze and maintain settlement transactions and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile outstanding account balances, investigate and resolve payment, processing, settlement exceptions and discrepancies using various systems.
  • Provide oversight for financial data transactions to ensure the accurate recording of data from corporate financial and/or transactional systems; and the monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliation, balancing, analysis and reporting in support of the records. 
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance within area of responsibility. 
  • Manage the process for the issuance of federal and provincial tax payments and/or settlements of transactions.
  • Update or recommend improvements to processes or financial systems by identifying opportunities for improving accuracy and/or efficiencies, contributing to the design and testing of enhancements and providing training as part of implementation. 

 
What you should have:
 

  • An Undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration or finance.
  • A Minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting operations.
  • The knowledge and understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work in a multi-demand environment.
  • The knowledge and understanding of financial and internal control frameworks, requirements, and procedures.
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

 
It would be great if you also had:
 

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations software.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
