About the role

Join the Infrastructure and Operations Team, in the Senior Specialist Virtualization, Storage & Backup Administrator position. In this role you will be responsible for the advanced operation, stability, security, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid environments. You will operate and optimize core infrastructure platforms, lead complex troubleshooting and incident resolution, and support modernization initiatives to deliver resilient, secure, and reliable services aligned with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, and ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) best practices.

 

What you will do: 

 

  • Operate and support enterprise infrastructure platforms across compute & virtualization, network and voice/video, storage and backup, and database technologies in on‑premises and hybrid environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure stability and performance by proactively monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing health, capacity, and availability, resolving issues before they impact services.
  • Lead complex incident and problem resolution, acting as a senior technical escalation point and performing root cause analysis in alignment with ITSM processes.
  • Drive infrastructure lifecycle and modernization activities, including platform upgrades, system refreshes, workload migrations, and data center or cloud‑adjacent initiatives.
  • Contribute expert technical input to the design and implementation of new infrastructure capabilities, ensuring solutions are operationally sound, scalable, and secure.
  • Strengthen security, backup, and recoverability by implementing security controls, maintaining and testing backup and disaster recovery solutions, and remediating vulnerabilities and patching gaps.
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and documentation, developing scripts, tools, standards, and runbooks that support consistent and resilient operations.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor and mentor, collaborating across IT teams, providing guidance to peers and junior staff, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

 

What you should have:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience can be considered.
  • A minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure roles.
  • Senior‑level, hands‑on experience across compute/virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and database platforms.
  • Experience supporting on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in using the devops model, using Ansible and terraform to do automation, deployment and customization. Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (incident, problem, and change management).
  • Advanced troubleshooting and scripting/automation skills (e.g., PowerShell), with strong communication abilities.

 

Technologies:

 

  • Compute & Virtualization: VMware, Hyper‑V, hyperconverged platforms (e.g., Nutanix).
  • Networking & Collaboration: LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN, SD‑WAN, voice/video platforms.
  • Storage, Backup & Databases: Enterprise storage and backup solutions; Azure Backup, Commvault, MS SQL Server, DB2, Azure SQL.
  • Automation: Ansible, Terraform, Powershell, SCCM, AzureCLI, Microsoft Graph.

 

It would be great if you also had:

 

  • Experience supporting regulated or security‑sensitive environments, including ITIL‑based service management.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and integration with on‑premises infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and infrastructure standardization initiatives.
  • Industry certifications in infrastructure technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Azure, networking, backup, or database platforms) are considered assets.
