Join the Office of the Enterprise Data Governance team where we lead our digital transformation by improving data quality and integrity to accelerate housing affordability. We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation, and partnerships. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, evolution and enhancement of the Information Management (IM) functions (information, data, knowledge and records) at CMHC. You will help the organization realize the full value of its structured and unstructured data and information assets and evolve the corporate information taxonomy. You will also implement and manage an effective data/information governance model and frameworks to address the safe, effective and efficient sharing of information across CMHC.
Responsibilities:
- Work with key stakeholders to drive metadata management application adoption.
- Design and implement data governance operating model and workflows in data governance tool based on policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Identify gaps in existing governance model and lead implementation.
- Create the business requirements and lead the User Acceptance testing for the metadata management application.
- Lead and support investigations of issues, identify cause and resolve them.
- Act as subject matter expert on existing infrastructure and associated tools and processes, including but not limited to Collibra and data repositories.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Acts as key subject matter expert both within the team and cross-functionally, on metadata management application, key performance measurements, data repositories and provides insight developed through comprehensive analysis and research.
- Responsible for development & production of metrics and reports that provide insight into the health of the data governance application.
- Support the establishment of directives, standards, guidelines, and procedures ensuring successful implementation and maintenance of an information governance framework.
- Provide functional/technical guidance and direction to create alignment and adherence to data/information governance policies for stakeholders.
- Support the monitoring and measurement of data quality issues, by ensuring they are categorized with remedial actions dealt with expeditiously by the appropriate function (internal and outsourced partner(s)).
- Ensure proper risk and security considerations are fully integrated in data management processes, policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, finance, legal, or commerce and a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, Data Analysis and Engineering, and/or Data management processes and technology.
- 5+ years experience using and administering data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, IGC, etc.
- Adept in implementation and managing operating models, workflows and connectors in data governance tools.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and systems thinking.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
- Excellent ability to understand and align technical solutions to business goals.
- Background in programming in SQL or Python.
- Experience documenting user guides and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adept with running profiles and building data quality metrics in Informatica.
- Experience programming in Java and Spring Boot.
- Ability to develop workflows and automate processes in Collibra.
- Experience configuring classification and machine learning in data catalog.
- Data engineering and architecture experience.
- Experience with Unity Catalog (Databricks).
- Collibra Ranger certification.
- Experience with PowerBI.
