About the role
Join the Enterprise Architecture Team, in the Manager, enterprise architecture position. The Manager, Enterprise and Solution Architecture plays a critical role in overseeing the architecture initiatives within the IT sector and across the organization. This position is responsible for managing relationships with solution architects, enterprise architects, senior management, peers, and business stakeholders, ensuring that enterprise architectural standards are applied effectively across assigned domain(s) of responsibility. The incumbent will lead a team of 5+ specialists, guiding them in delivering solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

 

What you’ll do: 


Technical Oversight of Enterprise and Solution Architect Initiatives and Deliverables – 45% 

  • Review architectural designs and initiatives, technical specifications, suggested solutions, and implementation plans to ensure alignment with business requirements and architectural standards according to assigned domain(s).
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following technical domains : IAM, Security, Software engineering, testing, CICD, networking, infrastructure, databases, system architecture, cloud technology, end user computing, etc.
  • Knowledge in one of the following business domains : HR, Securitization, Insurance, Banking, Finance, Procurement, Marketing, IT, Risk management, Data science, reinsurance, loan management, call centers, etc
  • Provide technical guidance, peer review, and support to solution architects throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in resource allocation for projects, ensuring the team is adequately supported to meet deadlines and project goals.

 

Compliance, Regulatory and Continuous Innovation – 25% 

  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders and senior managers to ensure mutual understanding of potential enterprise architectural risks, findings, progress, and issues.

 

People Leadership (Human Relations Skills) – 30% 

  • Manage a team 5+ specialists, providing direction, expert advice, support, and coaching to ensure high quality outputs and the successful delivery of team objectives.
  • Monitor and oversee work unit resources while building organizational capabilities and ensuring the continuous development of the team's skill set to adapt to industry changes within their specific domain.
  • Set team objectives and take responsibility for engagement, enabling a culture of learning, performance management, and accountability.

 

What you should have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or Computer science, or CEGEP equivalent (Quebec). An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience including five years of experience as an enterprise or solution architect, with a preference for experience in fintech or similar sectors.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, and political awareness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on influencing and negotiating internal teams and various stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to cultivate a collaborative environment that drives desired results and outcomes.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining effective, trustworthy working relationships.
  • Bilingualism (English, French).

 

It would be great if you also had: 

 

  • Experience in the financial services or public sector is an asset.
