About the role

Join the Client Solutions team, in the Specialist, Assisted housing for Federal‑Provincial‑Territorial Agreements position. In this role, you will support the implementation and administration of housing assistance programs by contributing to needs analysis, agreement compliance, and collaboration with partners. You will work with consultants as well as internal and external stakeholders to propose solutions aligned with CMHC’s mission. By providing high‑quality service, you will strengthen the organization’s reputation and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.

 

This is a temporary position with a duration of 13 months.

 

What you’ll do:

 

• Develop thorough monitoring of housing program activities in accordance with policies, guidelines, and procedures related to social and affordable housing programs.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients and other stakeholders to fully understand their operational context, and to facilitate the review and analysis of documentation; work closely with professionals from various CMHC business areas to validate and verify quantitative and qualitative information that may influence recommendations and financial decisions.
• Prepare reports and briefing notes, and coordinate and document decisions related to program activities and other relevant policies and procedures to ensure the effective functioning of assigned social/affordable housing projects or portfolios.
• Rigorously analyze and maintain complex information essential for reporting on program results, identify gaps, and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Exercise sound judgment and due diligence when making evidence‑based decisions from complex analyses, in order to develop recommendations and solutions aligned with expected program and government outcomes, within CMHC’s risk appetite.

 

What you should have:

 

• A bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce with a specialization in accounting, finance, real estate management, or any combination of relevant experience.
• At least five years of experience in project management related to program administration.
• The ability to interpret program guidelines and apply maximum flexibility in their implementation.
• Sound judgment, analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
• Excellent communication skills in both official languages (French and English), oral and written, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in various styles and contexts to achieve the intended impact.
• The ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate to gain acceptance of proposals or plans.
• The ability to build strong and lasting partnerships.
• Strong organizational skills, particularly in project management, and the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

It would be great if you also have:

 

• Knowledge of procedures, policies, regulations, and risk management.
• Knowledge of social housing programs funded by federal and provincial governments and municipal authorities under social housing agreements and the National Housing Strategy (an asset).
• Knowledge of relevant financial, legislative, and regulatory frameworks (an asset).
