You’ll be responsible for ensuring that CMHC’s risk exposure is minimized when it supports the development, management and maintenance of social and affordable housing programs through in-depth analysis of files, and for recommending solutions for projects that seek to either create new affordable housing, preserve an existing social housing project, or obtain funding/renewals or policy exceptions. You’ll communicate and negotiate with consultants and clients to explore possible options, and ultimately find a solution that minimizes CMHC’s risk exposure while working toward fulfilling CMHC’s mission to help Canadians meet their housing needs. You’ll provide high quality services to enhance the Corporation’s image and maintain good business relations with industry clients and various levels of CMHC management.

•  Collaborate closely with various professionals (other CMHC business lines and external experts) to validate and verify facts and data that can have an impact on financial recommendations and decisions.
•  Prepare reports and briefings, and coordinate and document the decisions made on all activities and other relevant policies and procedures for the proper functioning of social/affordable housing projects/portfolios for assigned projects
•  Analyze and maintain complex information critical to the reporting of program outputs and outcomes, identifying gaps and taking action to ensure gaps are addressed.
•  Demonstrate informed judgment and due diligence when making decisions that are based on facts and complex analysis to derive recommendations and solutions in line with the expected results of the programs and government expectations, and within CMHC’s risk appetite.
•  Conduct in-depth analysis of financing applications, project proposals, compliance reports and financial viability documentation to recommend an appropriate solution.
•  Coordinate all activities and other relevant policies and procedures
•  Ensure client satisfaction through high client service standards that meet client needs in both official languages (English-French).

Minimum qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s degree in business administration or commerce, with a specialization in accounting, finance or property management
