About the role
Join the Financial Solutions Team where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. As a Bilingual Senior Analyst, Financial Solutions, you will be responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and recommending approval of applications for financing under the National Housing Strategy (NHS) and existing CMHC programs.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 18 months.
Please note there are multiple roles to be filled.
What you’ll do:
- Review, underwrite and recommend contribution applications for loan approval and leverage the various programs offered by CMHC to find the most suitable solution.
- Review, underwrite and assess affordable, multi-unit housing applications for new construction and repairs.
- Manage risk by exercising prudence and due diligence while reviewing, assessing, and approving applications.
- Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities.
- Provide effective and efficient delivery of the National Housing Strategy (NHS) and existing CMHC programs.
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders by offering support, communicating key decisions, interpreting policies and responding to inquiries related to NHS programs.
What you should have:
- An Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, and/or Commerce.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in credit/financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
It would be great if you also had:
- Knowledge of construction financing, multi-unit underwriting, and credit risk analysis.
- Experience in building reports and/or in using statistical analysis software such as MS Excel or Power BI.
- Real Estate Finance (CRF) designation.
