Specialist, Vendor Risk Management (Position can be anywhere in Canada)

Join the Office of the Chief Financial Officer Team, where we use financial foresight and legal insight to improve housing affordability. The position will oversee and assist with the implementation and administration of enterprise-wide vendor management program; ensuring processes are effective in managing risks related to third-party relationships in a manner that is consistent with strategic goals, organizational objectives, and risk appetite.

 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing, administering, maintaining, and optimizing Vendor risk management framework.
• Actively engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective management of vendors risk according with CMHC’s risk appetite.
• Ensure a consistent approach across the organization for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring during the life-cycle of the contract.
• Develop program metrics and provide regular reporting on overall performance, including analysis of key risks and trends, issues management, and vendor performance.
• Responsible for change management regarding vendor risk management initiatives and other compliance requirements.
• Monitor, manage, improve and implement vendor risk policies, procedures and program governance to ensure effective risk management of vendors in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements
• Manage reporting and oversight of all vendors' risks and provide internal stakeholders insights of existing and emerging risks.
• Responsible for compliance-related Risk Assessments, Compliance Alerts, and similar documents to assess risks posed by operations; support the Team Leader in Procurement in presenting material risks identified to senior management.


Minimum Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, finance, economics or risk management. Professional designation in CRM is an asset.
• Minimum of five years experience in risk management. Experience with vendor management would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, quality assurance and oversight.
• Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, and political sensitivity).
• Superior oral and written communication skills (French would be considered an asset).
