About the role
Join the Risk Management team, in the Senior Specialist, Strategy, Product and Risk Management position. In this position, you will be asked to lead the development of effective strategies and products, risk management. You will also need to provide solutions through expert guidance to promote housing affordability and financial markets stability. You will contribute to the development of new strategies, policies, services, business rules and systems and will provide strategic input into policy and risk direction and implements CMHC's mission, vision, and goals.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 24 months.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the development of risking strategies that promote housing affordability and decisioning efficiency, business agility, decision/risk agility, and business traceability and security.
- Extract and analyze the data that will allow the development of decision rules.
- Compile the analysis results that justify the recommendations to present them for approval.
- Conduct internal consultations to confirm the analysis and recommendations.
- Provide recommendations/input on the management of new program policies related to new products, services, and systems or to better manage risk exposures.
- Develop tools (e.g., PowerBI reports) that enable the monitoring of risking strategies and performance of risk mitigation practices.
What you should have:
- A university degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience on research and analytical services using computer-based tools, analyzing performance and housing market data to identify trends and patterns, using quantitative techniques to analyze data to inform decisions, designing and implementing risk management strategies.
- Expert knowledge of the Multi-Unit application and risking data.
- Excellent ability to carry out research and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in order to propose decision-making strategies.
- A very good aptitude for writing and preparing presentations and documents suitable for different audiences. Effective in translating detailed and complicated technical ideas to easily understood documents.
- The ability to work closely with project teams to develop strategy documents.
- Great autonomy and sense of responsibility in carrying out the work.
- Advanced computer skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical software (e.g., SQL, Databricks, R), and Power BI to produce comprehensive reports.
It would be great if you also had:
- A MBA, and/or risk management certification.
- Bilingualism (English & French).
