Senior Manager, Facilities/Regional Operations (Position can be located anywhere in Canada)

Join the Corporate Support Services Team, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. Develops, directs and controls the national delivery of the full range of CMHC facilities services in a responsible, safe, effective and efficient manner. Provides functional direction to regional business centres and consults clients, stakeholders and partners to provide strategic advice to Senior Management and lead the development of short- and longer-term facility business plans, initiatives and related budgets. Responds immediately (available 24 hours a day) to emergencies affecting the critical infrastructure and continuity of CMHC's business operations. Manages asset-related compliance risk and financial exposure. This position has financial accountability and signing authority within approved Financial Authorities granted.


•    Plan, develop and implement a strategic vision of facilities programs/services that drive staff and outsourced service providers to achieve planned goals.
•    Manage nationwide leasing services and workspace design services to maximize and optimize space allotment, manage property services, which ensures corporate building infrastructure standards for both construction and remodelling are met and critical infrastructure is maintained to support the continuity of CMHC's operations.
•    Develop partnerships and relationships with key outsourced service providers.
•    Oversee the ongoing management of contracts, including monitoring of adherence to contracts, and the development of action plans to address any deviations.
•    Manage financial risk exposure by overseeing and authorizing all partner and third party vendor invoices (e.g., Partner invoice validation, invoice verification, budgeting and invoice forecasting), including validation, payment and payment authorization in accordance with the financial signing authority, corporate financial policies and directives. 
•    Develop objectives and take responsibility for engagement, enabling a culture of learning, diversity and implements practices to advance an inclusive, healthy organization, respectful of the diversity of people and their skills and free from harassment and discrimination. 


Minimum Qualifications
•    Minimum of ten years’ experience in space and facilities management industry standards, trends and best practices, including a minimum of five years of leadership experience.
•    Extensive experience in contract management and strong ability to manage relationships with outsourced service providers in order to monitor, report on and ensure delivery of facilities management services.
•    Experience managing vendor risk, conducting risk analysis and developing associated contingency plans.
•    Advanced written and oral communication skills and ability to oversee the preparation of highly complex business cases for senior management approval.
•    Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to use tact, judgment, and diplomacy to influence outcomes.
•    Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills at an advanced level.
•    Bilingualism (French and English)


Preferred Qualifications
•    Professional designation such as Certified Facilities Manager or Project Management Professional (PMP) or in interior design and/or architectural technology.
