Bilingual Manager, Accounting (Position can be based anywhere in Canada)

Join the Accounting Operations Team under Andréane Rodrigue, where we support housing affordability through effective and efficient execution of financial transactions. Your skills and passion for leadership, accounting and process improvements will support the delivery of innovative solutions that enable better decision-making, financial performance and efficiently supports CMHC’s financial transactional needs.  
 
Responsibilities:  
 
•    Manage invoicing, accounts receivables processing as well as customer and vendor set-up, updates and maintenance.  
•    Manage daily bank reconciliation, electronic and cheque receipts and journal entries. Manage the preparation and reconciliation of lender reports. Manage inquiries related to lender reports and other transactions. 
•    Manage timely invoice and payment processing, including payments to suppliers and employee reimbursement. Process refunds and other adjustments related to payments. 
•    Coordinate and manage processes related to monthly closing of the general ledger. Oversee the reconciliation of several general ledger accounts. 
•    Manage client expectations by providing excellent service and timely feedback. 
•    Manage workflows to ensure process efficiency, service-level agreements are met and risks are mitigated. 
•    Oversee accounting operations transformation by providing advice, guidance on potential solutions and improvements for CMHC's accounting practices, internal controls and business processes. 
•    Align people, work and systems to achieve business process efficiencies and results. 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
 
•    Undergraduate degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, business administration, economics or commerce. 
•    Minimum of seven years of experience in managing accounting functions and leader others through change.  
•    Minimum of five years of supervisory experience. 
•    Broad knowledge of financial legislation, accounting policies and procedures, internal controls and financial transaction processing best practices. 
•    Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to a variety of audiences. 
•    Ability to persuade and influence others and maintain effective working relationships. 
•    Bilingualism (French and English). 

 

Preferred Qualifications:


•    Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
